Yeh Hai Bakrapur is a Bollywood film directed by Janaki Vishwanathan and its producer is Ramesh S Arunachalam with Anshuman Jha, Asif Basra, Suruchi Aulakh, Faiz Khan and Yoshika Verma starring in it. It was released on 9th May, 2014 and is a satire on the rural Indian backdrop. The movie is based on the Indian beliefs and was a part of The Film Bazar in 2012.

The film is all about the Qureshi’ family and a pet goat named Shahrukh. Few circumstances made the goat a super star overnight in the vllage. Qureshis are quite poor and have debts as well due to which they final decide to sell Shahrukh. But it was the only companion to their little boy and so the boy took a solution from barbar jaffar played by Anshuman Jha which ended up making the goat a big sensation overnight. This lead to religion politics, lust for mone and blind faiths.

This film highlights the ironies of life and shows the fickle minded human nature. It makes the story convincing and believable. Camera capturing the village was really good;the story as well as actors’ performances were quite good. Janaki would have covered most of Shahrukh since it seemed less in the film. The director didn’t rovide any conclusion to Yeh Hai Bakrapur since it’s the matter of religion and superstitions.

Another flaw of this film is the editing part. Few scenes end unexpectedly while few continue forever when we expect them to end. Slow buildup and hurry climax are yet again bad about Yeha Hai Bakrapur. The dialogues are also observed to be less funny than required.

Verdict: Editing department could have done well. The scenes weren’t edited as expected, overall the movie, Yeh Hai Bakrapur won over the hearts of the audience with the story and performance. Even considering the flaws, the story and performances won many positive critics.
