Vikramasimha is the telugu dubbed version of Kochadaiiyaan which is a Tamil movie directed by Soundarya R. Ashwin and produced by Sunil Lulla, Sunanda Murali Manohar, and Pashita Choudhary starring Rajinikanth, Deepika Padukone, R.Sarathkumar, Asdhi, Shobhana, Jackie Shroff, Nassar, and RukminiVijaykumar. It is a motion captur 3D computer animated period film released on 23rd May, 2014 all over the world.

Rana played by Rajinikanth is fights for the lost glory of his father, Vikramasimha played by Rajinikanth himself. Rana succeeds in impressing Kalingpuram king by winning his trust and on his suggestion, the kingdeclares war against Kottaipattanam. But in the war Ranasupport the rival kingdom and gets shocked. Hurt by this betrayal, he seeks revenge from Rana while impressed by Rana, the Kottaipattanam king appoints him as the commander in chief. The remaining story is a must watch and should be explained.

Main attractions of this movie include K.S. Ravikumar’s script, AR Rahman’s music, Rajiv’s picturisation, Peter Hein’s action and war scenes, nice dance moves, Deepika Padukone’s acting, Nagesh’s digitally created scenes etc. though the graphics were bit poor.

Direction by Saoundarya Rajinikanth, daughter of Rajinikanth had a very good grip on the narration. AR Rehman’s music and Rajinikanths’s voice will keep you engaged in the first half while main actions and wars will occupy the second half making it more entertaining than the first half.

Rajinikanth’s costumes and dialogues are very good while Deepika also did her best but couldn’t impress with her looks. All the remaining characters also look good at their respective roles.

Rich production and AR Rehman’s music are the main attractions of Vikramasimha were the biggest attractions of this film. Rajiv Menon’s cinematography and all the remaining departments have also done comandable job. However, the animation technology is not up to the Hollywood standards.

Verdict: Overall, Vikramasimha is a very good experiment with Indian cinema and is a must watch especially for all the Rajini fans. The story is so good that if it were brought to the screen without the animated format, it could have an excellent movie.
