Lekar Hum Deewana Dil is a romantic Hindi film directed by Arif Ali and produced by Dinesh Vijan, Saif Ali Khan starring Armaan Jain, Deeksha Seth. It was released on 4th July, 2014.
In the movies like Bobby, Love story, Betaab, etc., we can find the concept of boy and girl eloping and then getting married. However in Imtiaz Ali’s films like Socha na tha, Jab we met, etc., there is a different kind of love theory. You can find different flavors of harsh realities in Armaan Jain and Deeksha Seth’s elope, getting married, and then living happily ever after.
Dinoo and Karishma belong to a group of college buddies who always try to deny that they are in love. Later when Karishma’s father decides to get her married to a Shetty boy, Dinoo helps her elope. During this period, they realize that they should be with each other always. They get married but then they realize that money is important for lifetime. Love isn’t really enough. The rest of the story is all about keeping the love in mind, discovering the harsh realities of life.
The second half is really good with the great direction by Arif and everyone proved their acting skills as well. Second half actually should have usual rona dhona but it hardly have any melodrama which is good. Though the music isn’t great but it’s good. It’s not bad either.
Coming to the drawbacks, the first half isn’t that good. You’ll see Armaan’s loud and over the top acting which is little irritating. Moreover the songs seem overdosed in this part. But still Armaan makes up with serious acting in the second half.
Verdict: Lekar Hum Deewana Dil is an above average watchable movie. You can definitely watch it once with your friends.
