If I Stay is a Hollywood romantic drama film based on the novel with the same name directed by R. J. Cutler and produced by Denise Di Novi, Alison Greenspan starring Chloe Grace Moretz, Mireille Enos, Jamie Blackley, Joshua Leonard, Stacy Keach, Aisha Hinds.
The story is about Mial Hall played by Moretz who meets with a car accident and as a result is in coma. Her body lies on bed when her spirit lingers over memories and her loved ones. She needs to take a decision whether she should fight for her life or not.
Mia is a cellist who was going to visit some friends along with her family falls victim to a car accident. The ca hits an icy patch and skids out of control and the paramedics arrive to shift the victims to the hospital. Her battle for life in the physical world continues while she faces the life altering decisions in hr mind.
The largest part of her thoughts and emotions revolve around her bond with her classmate Adam and this part prevents it from being heavy. The flashbacks contain this emotional tug of this film. The shades of love and romance are seen with which the film moves at a brisk pace.
However, here is the heavy part of the film. It’s seen that Mia’s spirit hovers all around the hospital telling that she is disembodied but still sharing space with the living. All the character are well played by the respective actors.
Verdict: Overall, If I Stay is worth a watch for sure. You can definitely watch it with your family and friends.
