Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty is Hindi action thriller movie directed by A.R. Murugadoss and produced by Vipul Shah and it features Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha as well as Govinda as a supporting role. This film is a remake of Tamil film, Thuppakki which was also directed by the same director. It was released on 6th June, 2014.

Virat played by Akshay Kumar is Captain in D.I.A., a wing of Indian Army. He comes to his home in Mumbai on a holiday and goes to see Saiba played by Sonakshi Sinha whom his family wants Virat to marry. But Virat rejects her making an excuse that she’s old fashioned and not his type. But he doesn’t know that Saiba is a professional boxer and totally modern. He comes to know about her later when he sees her in a boxing match and then falls for her.

While travelling in a bus with his friend, sub-inspector Mukund, Virat witnesses a bomb explosion and he catches a man who planted the bomb but later he escapes from the hospital with the help of a police officer. Virat discovers that a serial blasts are planned in the city and he becomes one man army. He manages save the city. How he does this, is the story which should be watched on screen.

The plot is quite good and the direction was also fine but the film seems too long and need editing. It definitely has flaws but it didn’t fail to entertain the audience. Akshay Kumar’s stunts are jaw dropping as always and he leads the film without much support from his fellow actors. Farhad did average job in the villain role and Sonakshi was good in songs.

Verdict: Overall Holiday: A soldier Is Never Off Duty is a good entertaining movie and can be watched once for sure on the screen.
