Geetanjali is a Telugu horror comedy film directed by Raj Kiran and produced by MVV Satyanarayana starring Anjali, Brahmanandam, Srinivasa Reddy.

The film is about an aspiring film maker Srinivas who comes to Hyderabad to make his dream come true. He along with his childhood friend moves into a new house and then realizes it’s haunted. The entire story is about how he unravels the mystery behind the ghost on that haunted house.

It’s yet another story where protagonists are haunted by a ghost but the film takes an approach towards unraveling the mystery here. The first half of the film seems to like Prema Katha Chitram while the theme of second half seems to be inspired from Om Shanti Om.

Anjali befriends with Srinivas on her way to Hyderabad. The aspiring film maker tries to meet Dil Raju to narrate his story but before succeeds; he meets Arudra and Athreya who tell him that they are ghost writers in Dil Raju’s team. He’s accompanied by these two people being convinced that it’s a part of the process while Anjali visits him one night in his flat and since then she becomes a regular visitor and slowly Srinivas finds out that it’s a haunted flat. The rest of the story should be watched on the screen itself.

Anjali’s acting seems overshadowed despite her efforts while the special effects are over the top. Srinivas Reddy has done his best and also succeeded in winning the audience hearts. The comedy was also quite good and enjoyable. Similarly, all the remaining characters also are quite justifying.

The screenplay was really good. The mystery is in the second half but it isn’t as funny and scary as the first half was.

Verdict: It’s an above average film and can be watched once on the screen.
