F*ugly is a Hindi comedy drama film directed by Kabir Sadanand and produced by Ashvini Yardi, Alka Bhatia, and Akshay Kumar. It was released on 13th June, 2014. It’s a social thriller movie with a message.

F*ugly is all about four funny guys who somehow find themselves in the grip of blackmailing cops. It’s all about the awareness of being edgy but somehow falls off the edge. The film got fresh cast, dramatic story and the gritty city, Delhi. But the threads seem to be loose instead of tightly knit drama.

Dev played by Marwah, Devi played by Advani, Gaurav played by Singh, and Aditya played by Lambda are friends who drive around the city drinking and partying. They go to Leh and Dev starts a tourist camp and then return to home back where Devi helps her mother by selling papads to Nannu who is a creepy person. Gaurav gets trained as a boxer while Aditya learns the sanitary ware trade. Life goes on when these four friends collide with a corrupt cop, Chautala played by Shregill and a crime takes place. So, the story is all about how these friends survive.

The film, F*ugly seems to be over burdened which tries to capture all the Delhi clichés showing how deep the city’s ugliness spread. Shregill’s Chautala is irony and Vijender Singh is both bright and funny. Dev is quite good while Devi alternates between fiery and fragile. However the acting is overlooked while trying to present the story as a cool tale. Direction wasn’t so good as well.

Verdict: Overall F*ukre is an average movie which can be skipped if you have better choices.
