The movie Dracula Untold is a tale of origin about how Vlad the Impaler has acquired the identity he always wished for. In his own dialogue, he said “Count Dracula; Son of Devil”.
With the contrary of the title named to this movie, the aim of this story is to tell us about everything that was untold about fifteenth century. Transylvanian tyrant had a bunch of nasty habits such as skewering heads of tall stakes when anyone of townsfolk disobey him and also all of his enemies come under his list.
Evans (Prince Vlad) can be considered as a nice husband to Gadon his wife (Mirena) and was a surprising doting dad of his little Parkinson (Ingeras). But his nature was more like split personality because when gets pissed off with guys he doesn’t like, he practically goes ballistic and his rage simply has no bounds.
Before he was converted into Dracula, he used to celebrate festivals and was apparently fine. But when he was preparing for the Easter celebrations with his people for a party in advance of Mehmed II’s soldiers (Cooper), soldiers came knocking the Transylvania’s gates and brought a present as tribute of 1,000 boys of the Turkish army. That is when he realizes that he’s being out numbered, and decides to meet Master Vampire, because he knew that he is the only one who can support him with his supernatural powers. But when Vald sips the blood of Vampire, life he used to hold has changed forever.
With the scenes such as albeit can be pierced with the help of wooden stake and the way he used to love his family and all the people of his likes, the director Shore wanted us to understand that even vampires have their heart-full of feelings. The same people who could later shun him down considering him as a beast. The admirable trials of Evans were enough to list in the tragic depiction of hero that were envisioned by Shore (Director of this movie). All the supporting casts managed to pull the graph up with quite acceptable performance, except for Turks, while they were reduced to kohl-eyed baddies, rhetoric-spewing. They had the accent of modern-day Russia compared to ancient Turkey.
Rather that creepy and horrifying movie, this movie comes under action-oriented movies list with the version of Dracula. All together he managed to us to keep him in mind with his teeth as Dracula legend.
