Bang Bang is a Hindi action romance film directed by Siddharth Anand starring Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Danny Denzongpa. This film is a remake of Hollywood film Knight and Day which featured Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.
Rajveer Nanda (Hrithik Roshan), a charming yet mysterious man who lives on an edge and messes with baddies all over. On his journey as a mysterious man he meets Harleen sahni (Katrina kaif) is an innocent bank receptionist and is charmed by his good looks and his style of dealing with hazardous situations. The more Harleen meets him, the more she gets into trouble which Rajveer takes along with him. She is unaware about such troubles, but she thinks, is Rajveer is trustworthy or is he just using her for his own purpose, audience need to watch it on screen.
Siddharth Anand has done a tremendous come back with Bang Bang and Hrithik Roshan nailed it. Siddharth Anand may not have good past in his direction but he will be surely remembered for Bang Bang. Film occasionally suffers from its weak screenplay. It is sometimes hard to believe Harleen’s closeness towards Rajveer who drugs her, breaks into her apartment and all; then again he drugs her, strips her off and takes her off to Similian Island in Thailand. But despite such blemishes, Siddharth succeeds in painting it with action feet which are expected to raw. Hrithik pulls off every action sequence with fitness and with his moving expression he engages us. Katrina as an innocent and troubled lady is great, she has done a very good job in her role and made audience to feel great about her performance. Her fear and hesitation is amusingly wonderful. Danny Denzongpa as a bad man is frightful. Music by Vishal-Shekhar is already a chartbuster.
Every frame of Bang Bang speaks of grandeur and full marks for Vikas Sivaraman, the cinematographer for capturing all the frames with stunningly. The editing could have been much better – the film could have been trimmed by 15mins at least. The writing (Sujoy Ghosh, Sammer Nair) is ok but not good. Choreography is excellent. The dialogues by Abbas Tyrewala are good but could have been better.
Verdict: Bang Bang justifies the homongeous buzz, Hrithik Roshan – Katrina Kaif’s sizzling chemistry coupled with never seen before action stunts and magnanimous grandeur make it as a must watch film. Hrithik alone is worth the ticket price.
