Aagadu is a Telugu action drama film directed by Srinu Vaitla and produced by Ram Achanta, Gopichand Achanta, Anil Sunkara starring Mahesh Babu, Tamannah Bhatia, Brahmanandam.

Mahesh Babu played as Encounter Shankar in this film and is posted in Bukkapatnam where a don, Damodar does illegal activities. Shankar now targets Damodar to destroy his empire and during this process, he gets to know about a shocking truth related to his family. Now Shankar’s rivalry changed from professional to personal.

Aagadu is a decent entertainer with action and comedy. However, Mahesh babu’s film has noting new and is a regular Srinu Vaitla film.

Mahesh Babu’s performance is brilliant as usual by carrying the film on his shoulders. Tamannah looks very beautiful as a village girl and Shruti is successful in charming audience with her dance.

Brahmanandam’s comedy will make you laugh for sure while other like Sonu Sood, Nassar, Posani, Vennela Kishore  and Ashish Vidyarthi also have done their roles perfectly.

The first half of the film is very entertaining while the second half is quite predictable when the twists are revealed.

The introduction is very powerful and energetic scene of protagonist and then a fight sequence follows it with an intro song. Mahesh Babu’s first scene as a cop is quite promising. But unfortunately Srinu Vaitla failed to maintain the same tempo even after 15 minutes. You’ll see only Mahesh from the very beginning till the end. As said before, it’s a regular Vaitla film but the entertaining comedy and music is the first half of the film makes it a good family entertainer.

Mahesh Babu got into the skin of this cop’s character and did it very perfectly. He didn’t go over the board in expressing his attitude. Tamannah couldn’t portray her role properly when paired with Mahesh. She got so many dialogues and in many scenes, she’s seen jiving with him. Rajendra Prasad had played a cameo here. He should have got some screen space.

Few songs were good with a not bad background score. Choreography was also good and cinematography is an asset. The film has great punching dialogues while its editing isn’t up to the mark. Production values are really grand.

Verdict: Aagadu is an out and out Mahesh film and a very good family entertainer.
