Actually pepper and rice is a Mexican type of ingredient. Adding some Italian taste to it, this Bell Pepper Rice or Capsicum Rice can be prepared.



Ingredients Required


Rice - 2 cups
Capsicum/Bell Pepper - 2 (chopped/sliced) – Try using different colred bell peppers like green, orange, yellow and red.

Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Cashew Nuts or peanuts - 1 tbsp
Oil/Ghee - 1 tbsp
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Finely chopped Cilantro - handful 

Ingredients for Powder:

Coriander Seeds - 1 tbsp
Urad Dal - 1 tbsp
Dry Red Chilies - 4 (or as required)
Curry Leaves - 1 spring
Grated Coconut - 1.5 tbsp (1 tbsp of Sesame Seeds can also be used)


Preparation Method

1. First cook the rice and spread it in a tray evenly and allow it cool.
2. Take all the ingredients required to make the powder and roast it. Allow it to cool down and then make a powder of it.
3. Take some ghee in a pan and heat it. Splutter some curry leaves, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, cashews or peanuts.
4. Take some capsicum (colored if possible) and chop then finely. Add these chopped pieces and sauté till it becomes little soft.
5. Add the powder, a pinch of turmeric powder and a pinch of salt as required and fry it for a minute.
6. Now take the cooked rice and add it to this mixture. Mix all of these properly and fry it. See that rice is properly covered with the powder r mixed properly.

7. You are done with it. Turn of the stove now.

8. Chop cilantro finely and take slices of bell peppers. Take different colored be peppers if possible t add some color to your dish. Garnish the rice with chopped cilantro and bell pepper slices.
Serving Suggestion
This much flavored rice can be served with raita and potato chips.
Try serving it with any non-veg or veg side dishes. Everyone will love this extra flavored tasty dish.

This can be eaten alone as well.
