Honey especially raw or unpasteurized honey is an all-natural ingredient for skin. Rich anti-oxidants are very good for wrinkles and anti-ageing of skin. It also helps to treat acne with its anti-bacterial properties. It opens up and unclogs pores to clarify skin. It also moisturizes skin very well soothing irritation and blemishes. So, in how many ways can we use honey?

 

 

Honey

 

 

1. Honey Masks

 

 

1. Simply apply a spoon of honey directly to your face evenly. Rub gently in circular motions and leave it for 5 – 30 minutes. Rinse off the face with some lukewarm water.

 

2. Mix 1 tbsp buttermilk, 1 tsp honey and 1 egg yolk in a small bowl and apply this to clean skin. Leave it for 20 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water.

 

 

2. Honey Cleanser

 

 

Honey dissolves makeup residue well especially when mixed with oil. Mix honey and coconut or jojoba oil. Apply this all over your face rubbing gently. This mixture easily dissolves all the dirt and makeup residue unclogging pores. Now rinse well with lukewarm water.

 

 

3. Honey Almond Scrub

 

 

Ground almond helps in scrubbing off dead skin cells while honey works as base and moisturizes skin. Even almond works as a great moisturizer. Mix 2 tsp ground almonds and 2 tsp honey making a paste out of them. Apply this all over face and rub gently in circular motions for a couple of minutes to get rid of dead skin and then rinse well.

 

 

4. Honey Lotion

 

 

Mix a spoon of honey with 1 tsp olive oil and lemon juice. Apply this to the dry skin areas and leave it for 20 minutes. This works as a natural moisturizer and skin brightener. Take a washcloth and wipe it off.

 

 

5. Lemon-Honey Facial Treatment

 

 

Vitamin C, anti-oxidants, and alpha hydroxyl acids in lemon work as great exfoliate. Cut a lemon into half and remove the seeds out of it. Take 1 tsp honey on the lemon halves and rub all over your face with it. Leave it for 5 minutes and then rinse well with lukewarm water.

 

 

6. Honey Rinse

 

 

1. Mix a spoon of honey with ¼ warm water. Rinse your hair after shampooing. Leave it for an hour and then rinse it off.

 

2. Mix 1 – ½ tsp honey with 5 cups lukewarm water and rinse hair with it. Leave it like that and style as usual.

 

 

7. Milk-and-honey Bath Soak

 

 

Mix ¼ cup honey with 2 cups milk and few drops of your favourite essential oil. Add this to hot bath, sit in it and relax.

 

 

8. Honey Exfoliant

 

 

For soft and clear skin use this once a week. Mix honey and baking soda in 2:1 ratio and rub it to your skin in circular motion for few minutes and then rinse it off.
