Last time we saw the top unhealthiest foods and today we’ll see the top healthiest foods which you shouldn't avoid. I’m listing few of those healthy food items. Don’t forget to tell me what your favorite is and what you don’t like to eat at all in the comments.


Eggs

 

 

Egg yolks provide those essential nutrients which are hard to find in other food items like choline. It lowers the risk of breast cancer. The antioxidants present in them prevent macular degeneration and cataracts. You might have heard that eggs are not good for heat diseased people but actually they are not harmful at all. Such people can limit the egg intake to two eggs a week but normal people are advised to take at least one per day.

Greek Yogurt

The regular yogurt is rich in calcium and immune boosting bacteria. But a greek yogurt contains twice the protein content in it.

Fat-Free Milk

You know calcium is good for bones but do you know that it fights fat as well. That’s true. Those who eat low calorie and calcium rich diet can lose weight up to 70% than those who don’t take calcium much. Little amount of milk in the morning in a cup of tea or coffee isn’t really enough. Take a full glass of milk with your breakfast.

Salmon

Salmon is rich in vitamin D and fatty acids like omega-3s. It helps in preventing heart disease, smoothes skin, helps lose weight, boosts the mood, reduces arthritis and many more.

Beans

 

 

Beans are very easily found in the market and are rich in fiber, proteins, calcium, potassium, magnesium etc. It helps in preventing heart diseases, diabetes, high blood pressure, breast cancer, colon cancer etc. Just a cup of cooked beans contain 17g of fiber. Isn’t it great? Take minimum 3 cups of beans a week. There are many types of beans like black beans, white beans, kidney beans etc.

Nuts

Everyone knows how healthy nuts are. Just 1½ ounce of tree nuts daily can prevent heart diseases and diabetes. Various nuts like walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds are very important for our health. Arginine in hazelnuts lowers blood pressure. Almonds lower the LDL cholesterol or the bad cholesterol.

Oatmeal

Oats are rich in fiber which helps in preventing heart disease, and type-2 diabetes. ½ cup of oats regularly can do much for your body.
