Many of you might not have heard about it, did you? Yes, spinach promotes hair growth very effectively. There are many products available in the market to promote hair growth but keeping hair healthy and its proper growth should start from inside. Spinach is full of nutrients, minerals and anti-oxidants which is very essential for healthy and shiny hair.

 

 

Different Types of Spinach:

 

1.       Savoy: These are crisp and curly leaves.

2.       Smooth-leaf: These are plane, spade shaped and uniform leaves.

3.       Semi-savoy: These are of hybrid Variety.

 

 

Various Components of Spinach:

 

 

1. Vitamins:

 

Spinach contains vitamin A,B, B1, B2, B6, C, E and K that helps in proper hair growth.

 

• Vitamins A and C: These are essential for your body to produce enough sebum.

 

• Vitamin C: It motivates hair growth by endorsing immunity, and as a strong antioxidant, it helps in recovering scalp health at cellular level.

 

• Vitamin E: This antioxidant increases scalp blood circulation.

 

• Vitamin B: It consists of vitamin B complex, i.e., B1, B2, B3, B6, folic acid and Biotin. This biotin helps in supporting hair and B12 helps in suitable suitable supply of oxygen to the root of each hair strand, and thus it inspires healthy hair growth.

 

 

2. Minerals:

 

Many essential minerals are present in high quantity in spinach such as potassium, magnesium, zinc and iron.

 

• Magnesium:

 

Magnesium is an essential mineral for over 300 enzymatic reactions occurring in the body, including healthy hair. Magnesium deficiency may lead to great hair loss.

 

• Iron:

 

Enough amount of iron is required as it provides healthy hair follicles, which in turn returns healthy hair.  Just ½ cup of cooked spinach consists of 2mg iron.

 

 

Ways to Use Spinach:

 

 

1. Spinach and Hair Oil:

 

• Take half cup grinded spinach whether cooked or raw and then isolate the spinach pulp.

• Blend this pulp with your regular oil or olive oil and apply this to your hair and leave it for about one hour and then rinse off with shampoo and conditioner.

• This hair mask will motivate hair growth, nurture the hair strands.

 

 

2. Spinach Hair Pack:

 

• Mix 1 cup of spinach leaves with 1 tbsp honey and your regular oil, castor oil, olive oil or coconut oil.

• Combine them in a mixer and make sure the paste is neither thick nor soft. Constancy should be good enough to use it easily and then rinse it off.

• Apply it to your scalp and hair and leave it for half an hour to 1 hour. Then rinse off with a good and mild shampoo.

• You may like to apply this hair pack every week because it motivates hair growth as well as decreases hair falls to a great extent.

• It also renovates damaged hair and offers smooth and silky hair.

 

 

3. Spinach Drink:

 

• You can also drink spinach juice if you want for proper hair growth. If you don’t like the taste, you can blend it with various fruits and vegetables.

• Try making spinach, papaya and banana juice. Rinse all these ingredients and grind them and blend them in a blender with some milk.

• Drink this smoothie every morning in your breakfast and see the result in just a week.

• Spinach makes your hair smooth, strong and will increase the hair growth rate while banana and papaya offers glowing skin.
