We know the importance of CTM. We also use cleansers regularly to keep our skin clean, don’t we? We also know that not every cleanser can match your skin type. We use cleansing milks and face washes of different types based on our skin types. But do you know the natural way of cleansing skin? We know that nothing can beat a natural home remedy. So let’s check what natural way of cleansing skin is. It’s right in your kitchen. Yes, it’s oil. You might get irritated by thinking of using oil for face but trust us, you’ll start loving this method since it cleanses well.

Why Oil?
You know water can’t dissolve oil but oil can. This is the basic concept. But, usually people think how we can use oil to cleanse when it can result in pimples and acne especially for oily skin. You may get shocked to know that oil cleansing is best for oily skin only. Oil dissolves the oil in your skin pores and removes the dirt completely.

Things you’ll Need:

Castor oil

Olive oil/Sunflower Seed oil/Coconut oil

The Recipe:

1. For oily skin: Take 1/3 castor oil and 2/3 olive oil/coconut oil/sunflower seed oil.

2. For combination skin: Take 1/4 castor oil and 3/4 olive oil/coconut oil/sunflower seed oil.

3. For oily skin: Take small amount of castor oil and large quantity of olive oil/coconut oil/sunflower seed oil. You can also take all nourishing oils like olive oil, coconut oil etc. and skip castor oil.

4. Mix these two well and pour into a small bottle and keep it safe.

The Method to Use:

1. You generally need to remove the makeup first and then follow the CTM routine but for oil cleansing you can directly do it.

2. Take small amount of this oil and gently massage it to your skin in circular motions with your fingertips.

3. Do this for at least 1 min. We’ll say it’s good to do it for 2mins. Leave it on your skin for at least 10 min so that your skin absorbs the oil well and all the impurities in the skin pores are dissolved into it well.

4. Steam your skin pores to clean. For this take a clean wash cloth and dip it in a bowl of hot water. Squeeze the extra water and place it over your face. Leave it for some time or till it becomes cool. This will open the skin pores and cleanses the extra oil on the face and impurities.

5. Gently clean your face with this washcloth. Repeat if required.

6. A thin layer will be there on your skin but it’s for good only. Don’t try to remove all the oil completely.

7. Moisturize if required. This is optional since oil also moisturizes your skin. If you have dry skin, you can opt for this step.

Few Points to Remember:

1. Castor oil dries skin and thus its quantity is less for dry skinned people.

2. The ratio of oils depends on skin type and thus at first make only small amounts so that you discover your own ratio.

3. At first you may think that your face is becoming worse day by day but don’t think so and don’t stop using since oils may be working slowly and bringing all those dirt deep inside your skin pores out. Have some patience and you’ll find clear skin slowly.

4. This can prove as the best cleanser during winters.

Try avoiding artificial and chemicals for skin and use natural products and check the results. You’ll love your skin more than anything.
