Dosa

Ingredients:

1. Moong Dal/ Split green gram – 1 cup

2. Par – boiled rice/Ukda chawal – 1 cup

3. Salt – As per taste

4. Cooking oil – 6tsp and 1/2tsp per dosa

Method:

1. Take both rice and moong dal and wash it. Soak it for minimum 3 hours and drain.

2. Using some water, grind it into paste.

3. Cover it with a lid and let it ferment for at least 8 hours.

4. Add salt as per requirement and adjust the consistency of the paste by adding water if required and mix well.

5. Heat some oil on a non-sticky tava. Take some paste/vatter and spread on the tava or pan in circular motion so that it’s thin.

6. Put little oil on the sides of the dosa and cook.

7. When the lower side of it is slightly golden brown, fold the dosa.

8. Repeat the same with the remaining batter as well making dosas one after the other.

9. Serve hot with some chutney.

There is a variety of rice named par-boiled rice which is used for idlis and dosas and these can be found in many grocery shops. You can get it and use for your dosas as well.
