Highlighting

These days few are saving lots of bucks with many DIYs. If you go to the parlour for hair highlights, it’s definitely going to empty your pocket. So, today we are going to see how you can it yourself at your home yourself.

Step - 1

Get a kit with label for your starting point but not based on the hue you want since different hues have different results on different coloured hairs.

Check if the kit has everything required to dye your hair like a spatula, a cap, etc.

Step - 2

Strand test is important. Brunette hair goes through different stages which include changing colours from brown to yellow. So, based on what colour you need, you have to check the time lapse during this test which is bit crucial. Simply follow the instructions on the kit.

Step - 3

If you don’t use a proper cap, it messes up hair. It’s better to avoid caps in fact. When you take a section of hair, you don’t know where its beginning exactly is. In such case spatulas can’t saturate the section evenly. So, avoid spatula and use an adult brush and a baby brush for front and back sides respectively.

Step - 4

Part hair as usual such a way that face framing strands are visible to you. It’s important. Side part usually highlight differently than that of centre parts.

Take one inch of your hair section in the front and leave 1cm from above the scalp and from there apply the mixture.

The streaks should be thin of about ½ ” in the middle of the scalp.

While going backward land under layers, change the thickness to quarter inch.

Step - 5

Leave it for the determined time in your strand test and then rinse well. Shampoo as usual and then condition well since dying can dry out and brittle down your hair.

Step - 6

Check for a good product to soften the highlights and make them shiny. Why don’t you use golden or copper one.
