Green pea Soup

 

 

Green pea soup is quite simple to make, is wholesome soup, comfort soup during this winter season yet healthy. Unlike other soups, it doesn’t require cream. It uses the pea pods which we usually throw away.

 

 

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
 

Cooking Time: 16 minutes

 

 

Ingredients:

 

Green pea skins - 3 cups

Green peas - 2 tbsp

Butter - 1 tsp

Chopped onions - 1/4 cup

Milk - 1 cup

Salt and freshly ground black pepper as per taste

 

 

Method:

 

1.       Take a pressure cooker and heat the butter in it. Add onions and sauté over medium flame for about a minute.

 

2.       Now add green peas’ skins and green peas as well. Mix them well and cook over medium flame for few minutes.

 

3.       Mix some milk and ¼ cup water to it and pressure cook for a couple of whistles.

 

4.       Let the steam escape and then open the lid. This will look like the milk has curdled.

 

5.       Now keep it aside to let it cool down and once it’s cool, blend it well till it’s smooth.

 

6.       Take a strainer and strain the mixture and transfer this into a deep non-stick pan.

 

7.       Mix ¼ cup water, pepper and salt. Mix them well and cook over medium flame for few minutes and stir occasionally.

 

8.       Serve hot and enjoy with your family and friends.
