After long night outs or fun weekends, food, cocktails, etc., you may feel like bloating and feel so heavy and burst anytime anywhere. This usually happens when you consume excess sodium. You won’t feel like eating or drinking anything but if you choose your food and drink wisely, you can n fact reduce these symptoms quickly.

 

Debloat

 

Fluids:

Hydrate while you debloat. Coconut water, peppermint tea, etc. can can reduce stomach inflammation nd debloat making your day energetic.

 

Hydrating Vegetables:

Hydration counteracts the side effects of bloating which is due to excess sodium in the body. Tomatoes, bell peppers, etc. are water rich and so these can be added to your meal. Asparagus is good at easing gas and removing wastes out of the body.

 

Fruits:

Papaya, pineapple, etc. are rich in fiber and enzymes in them help in proper digestion. Cut slices of these fruits and add them to your breakfast. Else you may want to make a delicious recipe out of them and have them as your breakfast. Try papaya doughnuts or you may like have smoothies as well.

 

Whole Grains:

Avoid your regular heavy breakfast dishes. Instead, opt for quinoa which can easily dominate over many dishes when are feeling heavy and bloated. Add probiotic yogurt to increase the rate of debloating. This shrinks the puffiness and makes you feel light by the lunch time.

 

Lemon and Water:

Consumption of water should never be neglected since hydration of your body is very important. If you drink less water, your body holds the water for further use in fear of dehydration. Lemon or lime being diuretic naturally helps greatly in proper digestion. Try having detox water containing lemon. You can use lemon, lime, grape fruit, cucumber, mint leaves, etc. for this purpose.

Beans and Lentils:

Depletion of potassium, fiber and excess sodium leads to bloating. Beans are very rich in sodium and potassium which can reverse the process of bloating.

 

Yogurt:

Why not try probiotic yogurt? People sensitive to lactose can prefer yogurt. Enzymes in it are already broken down and so these are better than direct milk.

 

Tea:

Ginger tea, peppermint tea, fennel tea can effectively reduce gas and digest food. Next time try making detox tea using green tea bag, lemon, honey, cucumber, strawberries.

 

Salt Free:

Bloating usually happens due to sodium and so salt should be strictly avoided at this situation. Have seasonings free of salt. These won’t feel you heavy and puffy. Dill, parsley, basil, etc. can enhance your dish.

 

Low Carb:

Prefer brown rice over white rice and whole grain bread slices for sandwiches. High carb foods makes your muscles store glycogen. This results your body to store 3g water per glycogen.

 

Fresh Fruits:

Go foe fruits over sweets since sweets contain artificial sugars which can be easily absorbed by your GI tract leading to bleating and gas.
