Did you know that what you eat can have a direct effect on how you smell? No matter how hard you try and how many breath mints you chew on, there are some food smells, which you simply can't get rid of. Some foods give you bad breath, while others can cause body odour. So if you want to avoid smelling bad, stay away from these five foods.

Red Meat

Is difficult to digest and often lies stagnant in the digestive tract. When it remains undigested, it putrefies in the intestines and releases toxins through the skin in the form of foul smelling sweat.

Garlic

Garlic causes bad breath and body odour because when digested, it produces sulfurous gases which are absorbed into the blood stream and released through the pores.

Junk Food

Fried food and food made from refined sugar is difficult to digest and tends to rot in the intestines and cause bad breath and body odour.

Dairy Products

Too much consumption of dairy products can cause bad breath because they are high in proteins that the bacteria in your stomach break down to create volatile sulfur compounds, which emit a foul smell through the skin.

Alcohol

Alcohol makes our sweat and breath smell really bad, so if you want to stay clean and fresh, avoid consuming too much of alcohol.
